History Tour de France

History Tour de France

History Tour de France

The Tour de France is one of the most iconic and famous yearly cycling events. But… the historic race began as a publicity stunt for a newspaper!

In 1903, a journalist of the French newspaper L’Auto came up with the idea of a race through France. That would boost sales and defeat competition.

With a length of five weeks, only a few candidates were found. That is were they cut the length to nineteen days to attract more bikers.

The participants were almost exclusively French, with a few from Germany, Sweden and Italy. Among them famous names like Lucien Pothier and Maurice Garin. Many of the cyclists were amateurs attracted by the promise of a daily allowance. Many of them were unemployed or looking for adventure.

Fans were charmed by the scope of the race. And some stages were so long that riders had to keep cycling on into the night…

It was Maurice Garin who took an early lead in the first race. He was the first winner of the Tour de France. He finished over two hours ahead of the others and 64 hours ahead of the last finisher. No time limits then.

Needles to say there was disparity in talent with unorthodox challengers…

This only endeared the Tour de France to those who were already hooked by the massive race.

During the first race, readership of the newspaper L’Auto almost tripled. Mission accomplished. The installment of the Tour de France was a fact. A race that survived and refined over the years.

Lavender Tea-Is It Beneficial?

Daily Lavender Oil Solutions

Lavender Tea-Is It Beneficial?

Although, the some of the benefits of lavender was discovered several years ago, it seems like every day we turn around and there is some new way that we found that lavender can  help us in yet another way. As most of us know lavender’s  most common benefits relate to helping with stress and relaxation.

However, if you take lavender and make it in other forms such as lavender tea, it will work its miracles and become beneficial in so many other ways. Lavender tea can help with inflammation, arthritis, and several more problem areas.

Are you a person that suffers with these very painful problems? Well let me help you then. I would love it if you stuck around and let me explain some different areas lavender tea can help. Even if you are not suffering from these painful issues, I might be able to help you by explaining what lavender tea is and how to make it. This way you maybe you can pass it on to someone else who might be in constant pain.

What is Lavender Tea?

What is lavender tea? I want to start off by telling you to make lavender tea you use the bud of the flower. This part has a sweet but very savory flavor. Are you ready for the best part? You can make hot lavender tea or iced lavender tea and both are super easy. Actually I will even leave you a recipe for both a little further down on this post.

Since I am letting you know what lavender tea is, I also want to explain to you the different nutrients that you can find in 1 cup of  freshly brewed hot lavender tea. I hope this way you can also see the full impact of how healthy this natural tea is for you.

Nutrients

  • Niacin 1%
  • Pantothenic Acid 1%
  • Phosphorous 1%
  • Riboflavin 1%
  • Selenium 1%
  • Zinc 2%
  • Cholesterol 1 mg.
  • Sodium 5 mg.
  • Potassium 1 mg.
  • Total Carbohydrates 9 grams
  • Vitamin C 4%
  • Calcium 1%
  • Copper 2%
  • Folate 1%
  • Iron 2%
  • Magnesium 1%
  • Manganese 4%

Wow  what a list right? As you can see not only does lavender have many benefits that can help you like reducing stress and muscle soreness, but it also has a ton of nutrients that can be very beneficial to your health as well.

Now would you like to know how to make lavender tea so you can start benefiting from all of these great nutrients? Well next I am going to explain to you how you can make hot lavender tea.

Hot Lavender Tea

When I first heard of this I have to say I was sort of thinking “I don’t think this would be good tasting”. However, now that I have read more into it, it sounds amazing. And to be honest I will be trying this very soon. Apparently the lavender bud actually has a very sweet and savory flavor.

Now I also read where people would also add all natural honey and even sometimes a little bit of lemon for just a tiny bit extra flavor. So even if it is not the exact flavor you are looking for there are some way to dress it up some. However, I want to recommend using all natural items this way you still are getting the best  possible nutrients and benefits you can.

Okay so here you how you make

Hot Lavender Tea

  1. You will start off with boiling water. (8oz) Now I am giving you this number so you can get a general idea of the amount of ingredients to mix. But you can always do more or less as you like or need.
  2. After the water reaches boiling, go ahead and pour it into a cup.
  3. Next you will want to take 4tsps. of freshly ground lavender (remember we are using the bud of the flower) and put it in a tea ball or a tea bag holder.
  4. Set this lavender down in the water and let it sit for 10 mins.
  5. Last but not least remove this lavender and sit down and sip away!

See it is a super simple recipe! Plus you can dress it up some if you like. Some ideas would be, mint, fresh cinnamon, lemon, and natural honey. Can you imagine how wonderful this would taste! It is making my mouth water.

But how about if you do not really like hot tea? Well no worries! I have a super simple recipe for making iced lavender tea as well!

Iced Lavender Tea

Personally, I like both hot tea and iced tea so I can see I would enjoy this either way. But I have to say a nice big glass of iced tea on a hot summer’s day is one of the best inventions there could be. And now there are also saying if I add lavender to this I could also be helping myself health wise as well. Yep, I am in what about you? O wait you need the recipe first! Okay here you go.

Iced Lavender Tea

  1. You are going to start this one off the same way but a larger quantity. For this recipe you are going to want to boil a 1/2 gallon of water. (And just like above you can adjust this recipe for your own needs)
  2. Then you want to pour it into a pitcher. (It would be best to use one that will with stand the heat and not melt).
  3. Now for this next part you are going to add the freshly ground up lavender into the water. (You can play with this amount to fit your taste needs).
  4. Next it is best to let it sit for about 15 mins. This way the lavender’s flavors can completely mix in.
  5. And finally you can either leave the lavender in or strain it out. But go ahead pour you a glass add some ice and you have a nice cool refreshing yet healthy drink.

There you have it 2 very easy ways to make some really great sounding lavender tea. Both offer such great benefits. Now earlier I mentioned that these 2 lavender teas could help you with aches and pains, so how about we go ahead and look at how many different things the lavender tea can help you with!

Can Lavender Tea Help You?

Let’s face it this old world is tough on our bodies. We end up with all kinds of aches, pains and sicknesses. And although, there are lot of different ways to help ease some of this most of them are not natural and can cause even more harm.

But there is great news! Lavender tea can help you out with several issues and it is all natural. Would like to know some of the healing benefits it helps with? You know see if you suffer from any of these and lavender tea can help you as well? Well take a look at this list of aliments that lavender tea can help with.

Lavender Tea Can Help With These

  • Tired muscles/muscles spasms
  • Insominia
  • Cholesterol issues
  • Detoxifier
  • Headaches
  • Digestion issues
  • Inflammation
  • Skin problems
  • Arthiritis
  • Anxiety
  • Some kinds of infections

Keep in mind these are just a few of the aliments that lavender tea can help with, but there are so many more. And if you take a look at this list and you do have one of these issues, how many different medicine have your tried to help with this issue? Did it work? Did it cause more side effects?

Now take a minute to think, wouldn’t it be worth a try to try all natural lavender tea? It is all natural and so even if it didn’t work for you, you wouldn’t have to deal with the extra side effects that other medicine would leave.

I am not trying to tell you this will 100% work for everyone, but what I am trying to explain is there are a lot of people who do say it helps them. Might be worth a shot to help ease some of your pains and sicknesses.

Have You Tried Lavender Tea?

As I mentioned earlier I have not yet tried lavender tea. But I have to say from everything I have found out, it sounds very tasty and since I suffer from all ton of these aliments myself it has moved to my category of it is well worth a try to me. Have you tried lavender tea before?

If so I would love to hear what you have to say about it and how it helped you out, or even if you just like the way it tastes. If not does it sound like something you want to give an honest try? I would love to hear from you as well.

Basic skills for soccer

Basic skills for soccer

Soccer, better known as footbal is magnetising crowds.

With the football season going on, many will wonder if they fit the job. Football is more than a game. It is exercise, strategy, competition, teamwork…. with a lot of skills that need to be mastered

What are the basic skills required for soccer?
A question many will ask and wonder about, right?

Soccer requires some fundamental skills and they can be cultivated in many ways.

The first is to observe what fits your bill. Where do you want to play and how? An attacking position, a defensive one, or rather stay in between, or perhaps become a goalkeeper, or ref… just name it.

Second, try to understand by observing what kind of skills are required, and work them out. Visualize what you want to imitate and perfect your imitation with exercises to become a master player.

Third, the game has many plays and players. With exercise and observation, you will soon find your perfect stand. Just remember it is a team game in the first place. Without team, no game. If you are not a team player, you better consider another sport.

Once you have decided where you fit, confidence and exercise will grow your abilities. Learning by doing as they say. Until you master your kicks and motion.

Basic skills for soccer
What are the skills needed for soccer?

This brings us to an important concept. The kicks.

Essentially there are two types of kicks, the ground kicks and the volley kicks. Beginners love the volleys, but the art is on the ground. The position of your feet, the power and precision of the shot and the swing of your body need to be balanced.

Once this work is done, you will gain control of the ball. Inside cut, outside cut and cut under body will move the ball in the right direction. A precision needed when playing in team.

After the feet, the heading is important too. Use the upper side of the forehead to direct the ball. Popular techniques include diving, glancing, and flick

Not to forget the dribbling and the pass. The most popular in the game. These include several moves. From basic to advanced.

We all love the fake kick moves. But what matters are the passes, leading to a goal.

That is why a coach will play an essential role. To help you find your place and drive until you master all the skills and techniques.

And remember,
even supporters are necessary
to cheer up the game!

Let us honor fair play as well.
Football is not a butchers game.

The making of sunglasses goes back to the roman emperor Nero. It is said he used polished light emerald green gems to watch gladiators. The invention of sunglasses was much later.

The first glasses were worn in the twelfth century by Judges in chinese courts. The smoky quartz was used to hide the expression in their eyes.

Italy developped its first glasses in 1430 and by 1600 people realised the benefit for eldery people.

In the mid 18th Century, James Ayscough developed blue and green corrective lenses for correcting optical impairments. The start of a colored view!

The problems for developing glasses were manyfold:
How to keep the glasses on the nose
How to use sidepieces
How to hold the glasses

A long story of trial and error that leaded to our modern glasses.

And it was in 1929 that Sam Foster launched his brand with the first mass-produced sunglasses for walkers on the beaches of Atlantic ity and New Jersey.

Followed in 1930 by Bausch & Lomb who developped sunglasses to reduce high-altitude sun glare for pilots. The military took in! A dark green tint that absorbed light to its yellow spectrum.

Later Edward H. Land invented the Polaroid filter and used it in sunglasses. And Ray Ban applied polarization for his anti-glare sunglasses.

The niche boomed. Everybody wanted sunglasses. Design, fashion and stars developped their own brands.

And people started protecting their eyes from the harmful effects of the Ultra Violet (UV) rays of the sun and the blue light of screen, computers and tablets.

Today many professions have their own protective glasses, from sporters to pilots.

Lavender Oil And Relaxation Techniques Ease PTSD Symptoms

Lavender Oil And Relaxation Techniques Ease PTSD Symptoms

Most folks have experienced a tragedy. When an event leaves a dark hole in our hearts this is trauma and is called PTSD. My focus is to present strategies that deal with PTSD. I walk you through various coping techniques that helped me deal with the affects of PTSD so that I live and trive today. My article explains a natural way to ease the affects of PTSD using lavender oil and rexalation techniques. My goal is promote lavender oil and pass these relaxation techniques onto you. My objective is provide a natural and healthy way for you to experience a sense of calm and take control of your life using these techniques, your keys to success.

A Short Letter To My Sister, A Walk Through The Storm

My dear sister, this is my gift to you and is given with all my love and kindness. My hope is that in some way this information helps you process your feelings and heal from the PTSD we have both experienced. Let me first explain what I learned from the memories, the PTSD events in our childhood and how they have affected our lives and relationships. The first event in our lives was my overdosed of asprin at the age of two. More than likely you witness me almost die. Your feelings around this event may be terror, sadness, being alone, helplessness or other feelings that are yours.

The point I am making is that from this ptsd event our lives changed in how we relate to each other. Our parents dealth with their feelings around this event by scapegoating me. Everyone in the family followed their example of scapegoating me. This is a learned behavior and is not your fault. The second event involves my two older sisters  brother and myself.  This ptsd event was the choking, me telling you I was going to kill you. We both experienced this at an early age when our brother would tell us he was going to kill us, the figthing, the hitting, the terror our brother inflicted on us.

This caused me to flashback at age twenty and take those unresolved feelings and acts out on you. I had not resolved these feelings but had repressed them and in times of stress I went back to that experience. Because our dad would take our brothers side when we complained this reinforced his abusive behavior. By not listening to our voice and feelings this caused us to shut our feeling down or repress or bury them. So now sometimes we deny our feelings and do not deal with them. We never learned to process our feelings in a healthy and effective way.

At the present time we may experience feelings of intensity such as shame, guilt, anger or other feelings in a manner that is overwelming and seems out of control.  This is how PTSD has affected our lives.

PTSD Developing Strateries, Understanding Triggers

Triggers may contain situations such as a smell, or words in a conversation or a tone of voice or anything that causes an intense emotion or feeling in us to act in a manner that is uncharacteristic of our normal behavior or does not reflect our values. These feelings can be intense rage, anger, shame or terror. Stressful situations usually envoke these feelings. When these over whelming feelings take over and we don’t understand we are in a flashback.

Four strategies to cope with triggers and flashbacks

  • Identify the feeling and own it. such as anger, rage, shame, guilt, terror.
  • Use relaxation techniques with lavender oil, go to a safe place in your mind, go to your center, breathe.
  • When you relax your mind and body there is a sense of calm and you can gain access to insights and feelings.
  • Understand the unresolved past feeling and release the feeling caused by event in a forgiving manner and create a new loving feeling.

Lavender Oil And Relaxation Script, Your Keys To Success

Placing a few drops of lavender oil behind your ears each morning, or carry your lavender oil in a pouch along with a cloth and add a few drops to a cloth and breath in the scent through out the day. This is a relaxation script I follow each morning is to maintain a sense of calm through day and regain control over my life. Finding that center of calm and serenity within us is what we talk about in the neo cognitive as our self.  This relaxation process will further our goals of letting go of reactivity and focus on self to listen to our needs and feelings.

Daily Lavender Oil Solutions
Lavender Oil And Relaxation Techniques Ease PTSD Symptoms

To find that center of calm and develop a greater sense of stability we can decrease our stress and facilitate the letting go of negative reactions. We can enchance our sense of well being and simutaneously program ourselves toward our personal goals. We create a new tape we play in our heads using self affirmations. This process works because we are in a deeper relaxed state that is an intentional level so when we say these affirmations they are implanted more effectively than in a waking state.

This script takes about 15 minutes and can be done anywhere. It a an effective method that gives us a deep resting state to get us in touch with our needs and feelings. It best to done in a quiet place with out daily demands, such answering phones, meeting childen’s needs ect. this is your time.  Place a few drops of lavender oil behind your ear or in a cloth and breathe, enjoy and relax with sweet scent of lavender oil.  This will set the stage and enhance the breathing and relaxation techniques that will be used.

Find a comfortable sitting position, feet on the floor, hands on lap, spine straight with head straight to ensure energy flow. Breathe in through your nose and exhale through nose or mouth. Breathe from the stomach fill the belly, lungs and raise shoulders.

Before beginning decide on your special place where you feel calm and comfortable. This can be imaginary or real. See a picture of yourself in the surrounderings. Described the scese in detail, such as on a beach, warm breeze, sand is white and soft, laying on a red soft beach towel, dolfins singing, whales blowing water, sunrise with all the color of a rainbow stretched  a crossed blue sky, ocean waves gently coming to shore, warm breeze, green trees, no people, nice and quiet.

Plan your goals and affirmations for your script ahead of time. Goals should be framed in the positive.  I will adhere to my diet,or exercise plan or PTSD plan and naturally let go of stress or negative feelings as they arise. It is suggested to limit the number of goals to three, one for exercise, one life management dealing anger, one for affirmations and to easily and naturally let go of old reactions as they come up and continue to live more fully from listening to that deeper part.  A good idea is to use lavender oil in this stage.  One of the best lavender oil at a good price is found at plant therapy.com

BEGIN THE RELAXATION PROCESS

Five Steps

  • Take a deep breath feel the air flow in and out a sense of deep relaxation is coming over you. Air flowing all the way down to your toes and back out again.  Feeling more and more relaxed with every breath you take. Enjoy this relaxed state. Your eyes are feeling tired and you may wish to close them.
  • Imagine a golden light shinning down on you, bask in the warm glow of this light, feel it touch every surface of your body, penetrating your muscles and helping you to relax. Enjoy this relaxed feeling.
  • Imagine yourself at the top of a stair case, stepping down with the right foot and next with the left and continue feeling more and more relaxed with each step you take, until you reach the landing and feel a profound sense of relaxation.
  • Imagine your special place where you feel most calm and relaxed. Now is the time to reflect on goals you have set for your self.   Take for a few minutes and reflect on your goals.  To be reminded of your goals and ability to relax and feel this relaxed feeling all you need to do is place your thumb and forefinger together.
  • You will awaken feeling relaxed and refreshed and ready to go about your business for the day.

Conquer PTSD, Strategies To Cope

Ten ways to improve your life.

  • Self -Values Helps stay centered and have a sense of self. Write your values on a piece of paper so you have a clear idea of what they are.
